Chinchilla Keeper is a web application for managing health, weight, feeding, and care data for exotic pets. Your data is securely stored in the cloud so you can access it from any device. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have.

3. What Data Do We Collect?
Account Data (upon registration)
- Email address
- Name (optional, during registration or OAuth)
- OAuth profile data (when signing in via Google or Apple)
Usage Data (entered by you)
- Pet profiles (name, species, birthdate, gender, color, photo)
- Weight measurements (value, date, source, notes)
- Feeding entries (food type, amount, unit, date)
- Care reminders (type, frequency, schedule)
- Vet visits (date, reason, diagnosis, medication, cost)
Technical Data (collected automatically)
- IP address (in server logs, not stored long-term)
- Browser type and version
- Access times
4. Legal Basis
- Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract performance) — for providing the Service and storing your pet care data.
- Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent) — for analytics cookies and Google Analytics. These are only activated after explicit consent via the cookie banner.
5. Cookies
Essential Cookies (always active)
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. The Service cannot function without these cookies. They do not contain any tracking information.
Analytics Cookies (consent required)
Google Analytics is only activated when you select "Accept all" in the cookie banner. Google Analytics is configured with IP anonymization (anonymize_ip: true). You can revoke your consent at any time by clearing the cookies for chinchillakeeper.com in your browser.
6. Service Providers and Data Transfers
We work with the following third-party providers to deliver the Service. Your pet care data is stored exclusively with Supabase — the other providers do not have access to your pet or care data.

7. Data Retention and Deletion
- Your data is stored as long as your account exists.
- After subscription cancellation, your data remains accessible in read-only mode.
- Upon account deletion, all personal data is deleted within 30 days.
- RevenueCat data is automatically anonymized after subscription expiration.
- Server logs are deleted after 14 days.
- Anonymized analytics data may be retained longer.
8. Data Export
You can export your data at any time using the CSV export feature in the dashboard. This includes weight data, feeding entries, and vet visits. This fulfills the right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

10. Right to Lodge a Complaint
